How much lilght for 120g?

I have a 120g, 60x18x26(LxDxH). I upgraded to 260w pc. Is it enough? I am having problems with algea and am trying to play with ferts a bit. I have added as a temporary measure 80w more watts of NO light to see what happens.

Thanks

falcon, I have a 120 tank and run @310 watts over it and have had luck growing all but a few plants(which i suspect is more water condtion oriented then light). Algae issue are usually a result of your tank being out of balance. Are you injection C02 and what kind of ferts are you adding and what are your water specs...

Thanks for your reply Jason. Yes, I am injecting CO2. I try to keep my pH around 6.7-6.8. My kH is 5.5-6, gH 6, nitrates I am trying to keep at 10pmm(recently by adding NO3), Phosphates are around 0.5ppm(started adding Enema today). I have mixed PMDD and I am adding it at 8ml/day. I am also using root tabs for swords. I am looking into dosing dry traces, same as I started doing with NO3. I do 50% w/c weekly.

That's my story. I just can't get rid of algea. It seems that it has intensified in the last few days. The tank has been up for about 6 months now. Before I had BBA, I think, the one that is hard to pull off. Now, I have more of that slimy green algea.

At this point, I don't know what to do. I am trying everything.

As you can see, I need help. All I had so far is headache. Can't even enjoy the tank.
