wow...that better be some heat pack. Why is the shipping so long?

I wouldn't expect any survivors...

Lots of rough weather in Texas. It's cold in both Texas and NY and probably cold all along the way. The snails might make it.

I hope it works out for you. Next time someone offers you a Christmas gift like that though, offer to pay for express shipping.

Five days in the winter time, no heat pack and a bag of water. Sorry, but that is just not the right combo. But I honestly hope you get a small Holiday miracle out of it.

Don't give up yet, I once had a package of Crystal Red Shrimp from another forum member get lost in the mail for a 2 weeks in the winter!!! They actually showed up with only one DOA. The only thing that I can think is that the package obviously never froze, and the cooler temps kept the shrimps metabolism slower so that they did not mess up the water with ammonia (from waste) as quickly. The good thing is that most packages that are lost or slow are not sitting outside, but rather in some post office or warehouse, it may be cold, but probably won't freeze.

What species is this snail? If these are Pomacea diffusa, they can survive for several weeks provided the temperature does not fall to 18 degrees Celsius. Does the package have heat packs?

priority mail this time of year takes about 2 extra days longer than usual. a thing to remember is that priority mail isn't garunteed 2-3 anymore its just approx 2-3 day delivery. I've been waiting on plants that ususally would be here in 2-3 days are now taking 5 days to get here.

Not sure I would ever risk fish shipping priority, hope they have a DOA garuntee. Epress or UPS/ FEDEx Overnight.

Hopefully the fish are bagged seperately as that will raise there chances.
