Any extra parts needed to connect reactor to Eheim outtake?
For hooking an Aquamedic 1000 reactor up to the outtake hose of an Eheim 2028, will I need any other parts besides maybe extra Eheim tubing? Do I need any couplers, reducers, etc.? Does anyone know what size the Eheim tubing is?
I have regular airline tubing for the co2 coming from a 1-gal jug of DIY co2. Thanks in advance!

I think...think..that you will have to reduce the tubing from 16/22mm (~5/8") to 12/16mm (~1/2"). In fact, I am pretty darn sure of it. You will need reducers.

I was afraid of that. Don't you just hate it when you order a new "toy", and when it arrives, you find out you need some funky, hard-to-find adapter or something, so you can't use it right away? I just ordered the reactor. But I'll wait until it arrives, just to be sure, and not EXPECT to be able to put it to work immediately.
Thanks!

Looks like Mike is right. I had to do the opposite adjustment for my ECCO 2235 to fit into my Turbotwist and Hydor heater. I know that the TT has 1/2" adapters, but so-limited the flow that I opted not to use them. Since 12/16mm hosing has a 16mm outside diameter, I simply slid the 12/16 hosing into some 16/22 hosing, and used a little PVC cement to seal the deal. Vwalla, DIY quick-n-dirty adapter. |

So, if I get two identical 12/16mm to 16/22mm hose reducers, I put one on the intake side, and one on the outlet side, right? There's no different male kind and female kind or anything like that, right?
