How would you mount it? It looks like more trouble than it's worth. Plus, that's a lot of wattage for a small tank, which I am presuming you are getting it for. If it's for a larger tank, you will have a heck of a time trying to spread the light across the surface area. And if it's for a small tank, you can get the 27w Hampton Bay desklamp which is much easier to position over the tank without any mounting hardware.

If that is the same light I am thinking of I too have considered a nano application for it. I work at Sears and have nearly bought that light since it has the ability to use only 2 or all 4 bulbs at once. I just couldn't figure a decent way to mount it or make it look decent so I never bought it. If you weren't worried about looks, it could probably just sit on top of a glass top on a small tank.

Rip it apart, gut it for parts in a custom canopy.
