Will an eheim 2229 or 2227 wet/dry filter work well with an external co2 reactor placed on the output side? I have reservations due to the surging water going through the output and wonder if the output hose actually empties inbetween cyclrs. This could cause a build up of undisolved co2 causing minor ph spikes if I am thinking correctly. Maybe a 2126 or a 2128 would be a better idea? Thanks for any input.

Eheim wet/dry filters are *designed* to exchange CO2 for oxygen and are therefore not the best choice for a planted tank. I'm not sure how even the flow is on the wet/dry filters but that is irrelevant becuase of the CO2 displacement.. you would be better off going with a regular canister.

eq is correct. You will in effect be defeating the purpose of injecting co2 by going with the wet dry filter. The 2126 or 2128 would be a better choice for you.

Or you can inject the CO2 directly into the filter via the breather tube and not use a reactor. Quite a few people do this with great results.
