Sumo vs Rex regulator

I've narrowed my choice of CO2 regulator between Sumo and Rex's. The both cost around the same ~$145 shipped. The sumo one I was looking at is this SuMo Premier Controllable CO2 Regulator with Swagelok metering valve package. Which one should i go with? thanks!!

both are good regulators from good people. i have the Sumo regulator with swagelok metering valve and love it vary responsive and a breeze to ajust. in the end though it just ends up being who you want to give your money to, and what look you like.

I'm lucky enough to work in Portland so I got everything from Rex. He even delivered to my work. I'm new to the CO2/plant thing and this was simple to set up and works perfect. You will want to go with the $215 package with the better needle valve. It comes with everthing you need. I also built the reactor that Rex described step by step on is site. You can also order your dry ferts at the same time.

If you are looking at Rex's regulator with the Clippard needle valve the Swagelok that SuMo offers is much better needle valve than the Clippard. The needle valve upgrade that Rex offers which would be better than the Swagelok SuMo offers is the Ideal... SuMo offers this choice too though.

I'd personally go with Orlando's "Choice" which includes the excellent Fabco valve (better than Rex's Clippard and more manageable, size-wise, than his Fabco) and includes the can't be beaten Bubble-counter w/built in check valve. $150.

SuMo doesn't list this as an option but they also will build your rig with the JBJ bubble counter ... $20-25 extra if I am remembering correctly. I got the bubble counter with my Premier regulator and Ideal valve. The knob on the Micro Matic regulator feels really smooth as you adjust the low pressure and it stays locked at what you set. Been very happy with my purchase and the customer service I have received.

If the Rex's unit comes with the Ideal valve then get his. If it comes with the Fabco valve then get the SuMo with the Swagelok. If both comes with the Swagelok valve then get the Sumo package.

The SuMo regulator DOES come with the Ideal valve as well folks. Can't beat the prices either.

With the solenoid and the ideal its $180. (shipped!)

Without the solenoid its $150. (shipped!)
