Mini-bow 2.5 lighting

I have a mini-bow 2.5 There's a plastic piece covering the light bulb which is now a mini CF 10W bulb. I can screw it off, I'm just wondering if it was alright if I left it off.

Only problem I can see depends on how water resistant the 10w fixture is as well as if the moisture would be high enough to cause a problem in the long-run.

I've seen moisture on the hood, but even with teh plastic piece there, I've seen it on the light bulb.
