Seriously, what is this?

I'm trying really hard to get a good picture for you guys, but I just got some new plants at the LFS, and bleached them for a good minute, and they looked OK...

...and now there is a round bug with long pinkish/purplish striped legs on my filter intake. It looks lady-bug size but the legs are obviously completely different. I can't see the front of it because of some of my plants, but I wanted to know if anybody had any ideas before I go sticking my hand in there to get it eaten off -- I mean, get a better picture. :/

I'll try to get a good photo in the morning when I have the lights back on. I feel relatively confident that it's dead, whatever it is.

Strange critter for me! Not a bug guy but that looks alien to me.

It was a vivid pink/purple color. Like a mix between a horror film and a little girl's bedroom.

It's either a spider, or time to call in the men in black.
