Try Aquarium Adventures in Carle Place on Glen Cove Road. Give them a call first. The place is extremely expensive, but if you google "Aquarium Adventures" you can find a coupon online for 40% your fish purchase.
The chain pet stores (Petco, Petsmart) only carry Chinese Algae Eaters. |

Magic Isle in Centereach, is ok. It's one of the better shops out here but still a hit or miss. That and Country critters in Patchouge, alot of exotic stuff but kind of limited on there plants.

Try calling Dave at Zoomie & Goos (sp?) in Glen Cove. This used to be Animals Alive in Wantagh, but it moved and just reopened at 8 Forest Avenue in Glen Cove about a week ago. The number is 516-277-1331.

I know I just got some from a local store out here in Brooklyn. They were mislabeled as Flying Fox, but all the descriptions I've read point to SAE (clear fins being the biggest tip-off). That and the instant gorgeous cleanup job they did on my nasty hair algae.
I know it's a bit out of the way, but I can get you an address if you're interested. |

I need about 6 of these as well. Can't find them anywhere on LI.
I've special ordered from aquarium adventure as well. I'll ask Pete (store manager) if he can get them for me. He's done special orders in the past for fish they don't usually have in stock. Usually takes about a week or two. I'll post something if he can get them.

If anyone is still interested in getting some aquahut in coram has had them in steady for the last three months. They dont answer their phone though so you would just have to go down. I was just there today and they had a bunch.
