Just did Kitty Litter Experement

I just went out and spend a very small amount of $$ to try my new experement! Got special kitty litter and some walmart screw in flouresents for my 20g ($11 total). I emptied the tank washed out, them put peat in(very little). I then mixed some sand and KL 50/50 in a bowl and got a 21/2" layer followed but washed gravel. I filled it and put some Hornwort Java fern and ghost shrimp in it to get it goin!! Its workin out fine til I get some root feeders!!!

Cant wait. The last thing Im hoping is to get GREAT succes with this experement

What exactly is the experiment? Are you comparing this to something? Measuring water parameters?

Well no not really just seeing how well the plants grow and proving that yes you can grow in KL

Ahh, I see. Thanks. Certainly I've heard enough reports of people growing plants successfully in KL, but it's always interesting to experience it for oneself and--if possible--compare the results with those obtained from other substrates. Good luck!
