Amano question

Do amano shrimp (or shrimp in general) just disappear for a couple days to molt? Reason I ask is because I have three and only one is visibly noticeable at a time. Do they retreat to some hiding place when they molt? When will they return to being out in the open again?

Ive had ghost shrimp disappear after a molt for awhile.
But my amanos seems to always hang out in the open. Maybe its also because there really is no major threat to them (they are the same size as my african dwarf frogs)

It is normal for a shrimp to hide when they molt, its gotta be the most dangerous time for them especially if there are fish around. They are so soft and tasty. I think most amano's are wild so hiding is something they have become accustom too.

It's normal for Amano shrimp to hide, doesn't matter if they're molting or not. I have 6 of them in my 45 gallon tank, and sometimes I can find 2-3 out of the bunch so it's pretty common for them to hide, especially if your tank is moderately planted.
