i just wanted to tell yall that the green penn plax check valves are no good. water siphoned through the check valve and into my diy co2 mixture. thank god i was there to see it happen... anyway, what check valves work for you?

I got one of those, always wondered about them. Nothin but a tiny "disk" that falls onto the one end to "block" water.

My Tetra has never failed yet. Just worked on tank a week ago, and ended up getting water in the line. It was half filled with water, but never let it through the other end.

I tested my check valves before I even installed them by hooking up spare hose and a spair air pump. Made sure the air went the one direction and then dumped water into the line o nthe other end and made sure it didnt' flow past the check valves.

my butt is a better check valve than these penn plax ones. AND it's not stuffed with filter floss!
