We need a Indianapolis are swap thread. Not sure if they let you do that or not. Thought I saw that philly had one.

I would go ahead and say it's alright. I have seen other cities on here with them. Just name the thread Indy Area Swap or something.

Indianapolis.
The Reef has really gone down... Almost everything in the selling tanks are sick.. I remember when everything was pristine and they had a dogfish setup there! I do go there occaisonally and check in on stuff. The parrot always catches me off guard...

I was just there last friday and the fish for the majority look fine to me, even picked up some cories. Def. still the best option for freshwater in the city. Even though you have to watch their plants for algae which I personally wouldn't buy any there (swap and shop here is where you get the good stuff).

Indianapolis here, totally thought this thread was dead or I would have posted sooner. Does anybody know of any LFS' (say...30 mile radius?) that have JUST FISH, no birds or fuzzy things ANYWHERE in the store? My dad has killer allergies and it really interferes with my getting stuff :/

Which fish did you see like that? I usually only look at the first two aisles of fish (R/O and Tap planted sections) the rest with danios, goldfish, and cichlids I hardly ever look at. Considering all the places I have been in the city and state, The Reef and Inland are the best. Even though Aquariumworld in Lafayette has some nice fish and plants as well.

Yeah this thread has been fairly quiet for awhile. Would think it would be more lively considering how many people live here. The reef is fish only but they do have one bird as a pet in a cage, not really sure why.

Dont worry, its just a red macaw in a cage. I think he'll be ok!
and it was in the back walls of the tanks on the freshwater side. they looked so sad..

NW Indy here. I have been frequenting The Reef because they are pretty much the only LFS where you can get plants and "less common" freshwater fish. I have gotten good advice there as well. They have decent prices on fish and plants. Maybe a little higher on consumables and hardware, but they don't have the buying power of a Petsmart or Petco. The Reef is my go-to for specialty items. If they weren't across town, I'd be in there a lot more. I've also bought fish at Petsmart and had good luck as well, but the selection is fairly pedestrian.

Also, what's this club previously mentioned? The Facebook link was broken.

There is the CCAC (Circle City Aqaurium Club) and also the Central Indiana Aquatic Plant Enthusiasts.
