The regulator seems to be defective. when I put it on the cylinder it either shoots out air or makes a horrible squeling noise. I never had any of these problems with my Aqua medic regulator. I have the washers in place & I've tried it with the knobs loose/tight. I've been trying to get it to work for 2 days now!. theres only so many troubleshooting techniques you can do with 2 knobs.

What about 2 knobs and a large hammer? Seriously, sorry to hear about your trouble. It sounds like the diaphragm/spring/poppit valve assembly is bad or sorely out of adjustment (from the factory). I hope you can get things straightened out soon. Best of luck... Tim

Was your needle valve loose and and you solenoid valve plugged in? Try it like that with the regulator loose and you should be fine, I was having your exact same problem, don't worry, it is fixable!

After reading about all the problems I was more then a little worried when I set mine up today. Everything worked out fine though, with no complications at all!

Believe me, if someone is apt to have a problem with something... its me. I don't know how the setup could have been any easier or fool proof for me. It went so smooth I suspected I had made a mistake! Sorry to hear you guys are having troubles.

Did yours come with instructions? Mine works great too, but it is just the one gauge that got damaged. I almost don't want to send it back since I got it working and it will take at least 5 days after I send it to get a replacment.

No instructions with mine. Common sense, attach male to female and tighten snuggly. Fill bubble counter and retighten snugly. Open valve, set preasure, adjust bubble rate. Thats all I did.

Well, the only trouble that made mine bad is that I didn't plug the solenoid in at first, otherwise it is really easy. Just a simple mistake since I really have NO experience with this kind of stuff what-so-ever.

Update
Today my regulator quit! I am very disgusted. I've tried everything to no avail. So much for my Christmas present. I'll keep you guys posted on the procedings. I guess I must have just been lucky at first. :hehe:
