My First Tank

Hi Guys, be gentle, it's my first post and my first tropical tank. The tank itself I have had established for 2 years now, it used to be way more heavily planted, but I took this terrible cell phone photo the other day after a major trim.

All the thin and corkscrew val is gone, and I thinned out the swords, blixa (which was going wild) and gave the java moss a thinning out, I should have scissored it I know.

The tank is a little understocked, it has 4 SAE's, 2 Bristlenose (both females, I lost the male just recently, he would have been over 2) they have had several lots of eggs in this tank. I also have one Black Angel I have had since small, and I also have x2 2+ year old Black Ghost Knives in there that I have had since small.

Anyway, it's my first tropical tank and I'm a bit lost at what to put in there. I am thinking of some natives, I like the bosmani rainbows. Then again, I am saving for a 6x2x2 so I may make that a native tank.

The tank in the picture is 5x18"x18", 2 heaters, 1600lph canister (dodgey brand), universal habitat background (god they ain't cheap but I like the look), x4 40w 15000K lights, plus there's an actinic? light for nights when mates come over just for coolness factor.

Anyway.. any advice or thoughts on my first tank greatly appreciated. Again, sorry for the cell phone photo, taking happy snaps is not my forte.

Cheers!
Woofy

Wow for a first setup it looks very good, and the photo is not that bad. Did you do much research with regards to aquascaping? What are you're plans for it, plants, fish etc?
