Good fish list for 55 gallon?

I was thinking of these fish for a 55 gallon.

4-6 angelfish
6 harliquin rasboras
about 5 cories
Pair of Dwarf Gouramis
Dristlenose pleco
6 tetras (probably black skirt)

Too much or too little? Good combination?

The tank will be high tech planted... dense or low tech planted... java moss, java fern, swords, anubas.

Any thoughts?

You may want to cut back to about 2-3 angel fish.

Have you thought about one larger shoal of either the rasboras or the tetras? I think what you have listed would look good, I have just always favored larger groups of the same species instead of smaller groups of different types.

You may experience difficulty locating a shop that stocks Gourami females. Mostly, from what I've seen, males are readily available, but not females making buying pairs hard. Any time I've tried two males together, one dominated the other, usually resulting in its demise.

What about a pair of Pearl Gouramis instead?

i thought gouramis were aggresive, so i dont have any. maybe they arent, maybe i'm just stupid

Male gouramis will be aggressive towards each other, but if you have enough cover in your tank you can probably pull it off.
