After much internal deliberation I took my 22" bubble wand out of my 29g community planted tank because I got to thinking that I was allowing too much CO2 to escape. Now, two weeks later my tank is looking a little sad. So I'm turning to the experts. Leave it out or is it ok to put it back in. I can't tell ya much except that the plants don't look quite as happy as they did with it there. (And DH really likes it to!)

Actually the bubble wand was probably keeping your CO2 levels at or near equilibrium. Turning off the bubbling wand would have caused your tank circulation to slow down and limit the gas exchange. In tanks that don't have CO2 injection, having good circulation ala a bubble wand etc. is very beneficial to keeping CO2 at equilibrium.

If you are injecting CO2 then I've misinterpreted your situation completely. If your not injecting CO2, then by all means turn on that bubble wand and get the water moving again.
