Personally, I don't like to add any more than 4 or 5 fish at a time. If its a new tank, I add even less. Just my oppinion though.

You will be fine.

Everything already cycled? Heavily planted, or lightly?
My gut feeling says you'll be fine.

I always found neons to be sensitive and I would suggest only adding them to a tank that is fully established. Since you only have 2 fish in there (shrimp do not really create a big bioload), adding 8 more is too much at one time. Also, you mentioned that you finally got the water to the correct parameters. What do you mean? Are you adjusting the pH or do have the ammonia and nitrites down to 0.

my tank has been set up for about a month, but i've had this tank for like 5 months, cuz i had to clean it completely out and rescape everything, my tank is lightly planted , but i have a bio wheel thast been pouring the denitryfying bacteria for about 3 weeks, i just wan tto make sure there's no ammonia spike or anythign like that if i add all these fish, bu ti figured the fish ar eso small and my tank is pretty large so it shouldn't really impact the water perametrs that much

Hey guys so i got myself some more rummynose tetras, and it seems that they have naturally found the amount of rummynose that shoul dbe in my tank and that magic number is ....4 XD yupp i'm not going to try to add more rummynoses at this moment, and i think since all of them are about 1 inch long now, i will add possibly a dwraf gourami now instead of several neon tetras.
