Well got the tank set back up, and running!!! I really like the new hardscape of the tank, and I got my first 2 orders of plants today.

Quite a bit of Red Root Floaters
20 - Rotala mini butterfly
20 - Rotala rotundifolia
10 - Blyxa japonica
6 - Corkscrew val
4 - Rotala colorata
4 - Ludwigia rubin

Waiting on an order of 10 Jungle Vals to come in, and I'll take some pictures of everything in the next couple of days since the water is still a bit cloudy!!!

So I received the jungle vals, and then a couple days ago I picked up some Hygrophila corymbosa, Ludwigia Repens, Bacopa caroliniana, and they had this monster leaf Bleheri Amazon Sword!!! I'm talking the biggest leaf on the sword is bigger then the my entire hand, and it was only $5 lol...

Today I went back to fish store again today, and picked up some more Ludwigia Repens, a good size cryptocoryne wendtii, some Rotala rotundifolia, and 2 Amano shrimp to clean the tank!!! I'll be picking up more Amano shrimp because these 2 were just test subjects to make sure my tank was mature enough for them lol.

So I picked up 4 more Amano shrimp for a total of 6 in the tank, these little guys are amazing at cleaning up the hair algae from my driftwood, the dead plant detritus from the tank, and are busy, busy. busy!!!

Here's a couple of pics of the tank taken with my cellphone since I lent my camera to my sons for their vacation. I'll post some new pics when I get my camera back!!!

Guess I should update this ! ! !

It's been a while since I updated this thread, so here we go!!! I've gone ahead and tore down the tank, removed all of the old substrate from the tank, and started with all new flourite and floramax.

On Wednesday I'll be picking up a new SunSun 302 canister filter, and a 36" Current Satellite+ LED fixture for the tank. I'm currently using an Odyssea CFS-500 canister filter for the tank, and it's just way too much water movement for what I want. I ordered 20 Indian Almond Leaves, and plan to redo the entire tank as an Amazon Blackwater Biotope planted tank.

Also this Wednesday I'll be ordering a Green Element 48" EVO 6500k LED lighting system for the tank, I'll be picking up some window tint in order to dim the EVO LED system, and the Satellite+ system will be used for early morning sunrise, and late evening dawn lighting. The 302 canister filter will calm the water flow down, but I'll be adding another 302 to the tank in Oct. along with a co2 regulator then I'll pick a 10lb co2 cylinder in Nov.

I'll be hitting the local river for a driftwood hunt, see what I can find that
ll look good in the tank. So I'll be updating this thread a bit more often as the tank transcends in a Amazon Blackwater Biotope!!!!
