Diatom outbreak and what appears to be some beard algae. Thought I was going to jump start this aquarium a bit easier than this but it appears the cycle might have been thrown off a bit. Planning to do some water changes and hopefully get everything straightened out.

With such a nice plant light why don't you add some plants that have some color like ludwiga repens or Hygrophila polysperma sunset?

This was my bedroom tank that never really met my expectations. After a few months of searching for the right pieces of driftwood and getting some local rocks, I decided to start this tank over from the beginning. I sold the fish aside from the neons and started fresh. Moved the CPD's I had in my shrimp tank. I'm also housing a few rummynose tetras for a friend of mine (wanted to see the schooling habits first hand).

After a thorough cleaning and a few hours of finagling the driftwood I finally got it looking the way I've wanted from the beginning.

I am hoping as this tank grows in that it will be enjoyable to photograph.

Thanks for looking.

Been thinking about that actually. Haven't found the right plant to add quite yet but I do think that the tank is in need of a good stem plant. I'm torn about whether I want to stick with greens or try some more color (testing that with the tiger lotus I just added).

Red Watermilfoil and its green variation is my favorite plant. It craves calcium sulfate. Which I supply with dry fert form Select Aquatics

Oh I have seen the green variation in my lfs before. The red is a great looking plant though. I'll have to keep an eye out for it.
