I'm past the hair algae madness and now am dealing with a massive diatom outbreak. My tank looks like it's been sprinkled with dirt. I know oto's are good for eating diatoms but none are available in my neck of the woods at present. What are some other options I can try ?

Thanks

Thanks, can't get SAE's either. There are plenty of the Chinese version around here but I don't want them because they have a nasty rep.

hey, I recall that you had an issue with this, and I just wanted to report that the MTS I added are doing a number on cleaning up the brown diatoms in my tank. They seem to have given the otos a fright and they have gone to work as well.
