Hairgrass Help! Deficiency? PICS

Hi, I am having some problems with my hairgrass dying off. It is spreading at a rapid pace but is not healthy with the tips becoming yellow or brown. Can someone help me grow it green?!?!?!? Should I add Bright K and Special Lights to the equation?

Some specs of the tank that might help
8 gallon LxWxH 18x15x13?
Substrate = PS Special + AS + AS Powder type + Brightsand
24W PC 8 hr/day
Pressurized CO2 2bps
Ferts = Dupla 24 daily ADA green brighty step 2 every other day

FWIW, I've never had hairgrass, and I'm not sure of the light requirements, but 24 watts (is it a screw-in PC?) does not seem like much light.

Oh, I forgot....it actually has 42w over the tank. I added a coralife mini onto the backside of the tank where most of the hairgrass is. Even then, I can tell the mini's lighting does not penetrate the water very deep. Should I add another mini to the other side?

I'm growing Dwarf hairgrass in a 10gallon with AH 2x13watt brightkit and reflector, you should be fine with that lighting for the hairgrass.
From what I can see its growing nicely, just browning out from lack of (K).

screename, 42 watts over 8 gallon is powerful indeed.

Spacefly, you relieve me from my doubts. i'm planning to use only 36 watts of lighting on my future 24 gallon. can my hairgrass grow optimal with this light?

It would depend on the depth of the water in the tank.
I have tried to grow it in my 25 hex with a 36watt brightkit, while it did survive, it didnt really spread much. This tank is taller than it is wide, so light had a tougher time reaching the substrate. It now resides in my 10 gallon which is spreading like wildfire, I had updated my hex to 55watt now, but have yet to try the hairgrass, I just planted some glosso in there though, so we shall see how that goes.

If your tank is a 24g long, then you might have better luck than I did with 36watt.
