Sounds like a stupid question but here goes ops:
I have the chelated trace element mix, the KXSO4, KNO3 (which I probably won't use seeing as I have 9 orandas in the tank; I doubt if I will have to use seeing as nitrates always rise with fish in the tank unless someone knows something different?) and they say to put in MgSO4.7H20. Now beside it they say (fully hydrated magnesium sulfate, aka epsom salts) - now I am just trying to read this right - is epsom salts the fully hydrated magnesium sulfate or are they saying to get epsom salts that are fully hydrated? I am not sure what they mean?
Sorry again if it is a stupid question but better to be safe then sorry when I mix this stuff up; I have epsom salts in the house.

They are one and the same. But if your gH is over 3-4 you don't need to add the Epsom salts either as long as you are doing regular water changes.

Okay, one more question for you; hope I am not driving you too crazy:-). You said with my kh that it was ppm was divided by 18 to get the proper number; is that also true for the gh to get the proper degrees? My gh was also 100 ppm.

Me again Rex, was checking my nutrafin carbonate and general hardness tester and it has different conversion tables on it. It say for dh or gh degrees (not sure where you found the degree mark on the computer that got me:-)) x 0.056. For Clark H degrees x 0.07
Figure it must be the first one - so my 100 ppm gh would be x 0.056 = 5.6 degrees. Am I right?

Right. But 0.056 is the same as 17.9. So you can divide by 17.9 or multiply by 0.056 and come up with pretty much the same answer.

To get the hold down the ALT key and hit 0176

Okay, yes, that works. Good to know. Now the hold down alt and hit 0176? When I hold down the alt button and hit 0 I get one of my sounds - like I did something wrong? What am I doing wrong; would you know? Maybe it is another key?

You have to use the number pad (with NumLock on) when you use the <Alt> #### sequence to get an ASCII character.

If you have Windows look in the Start Menu under Accessories, look for something like Character Map.
