RO/DI water and using dechlorinates

I am just wondering if I am using RO/DI water with a TDS reading of 20 do I need to add Dechlorinator? I would think not but since I am not 100% sure I figured I would ask.
Thanks for any info you have

For what it is worth, I do not use a dechlor while using RO, and use very little while using tap.
This does not mean that you should do the same, take caution and check for yourself whether you need to use it or not, or use it

Hi,
If you need to your membrane is spent because chlorine will cause your membrane to degrade.

A proper RO/DI will give 0ppm product so you may want to look into that. Carbon filters and sediment prefilters are used before the membrane. Carbon filters take care of the chlorine.

So to answer your question about chlorine, no you do not need dechlor.

Craig! Sell me some plants please!

Just make sure your carbon filter is still filtering it out...eventually you will need to replace your carbon filter or the chlorine will destroy your RO membrane

When you buy/install a new carbon block prefilter, consider the pore size (measured in microns), and the chlorine capacity (expressed in gallons). The chlorine capacity will help you estimate how often you should replace the cartridge.
