I did and showed everyone at the AGA meeting so as well.
Plain old sand and water column ferts.
Also grew well in sand + kitty litter.

Mine grows amazingly well in play sand. Water column ferts is all I use.

A little soil under the sand and no water column fertilizers also works. I've used this method for five species of hairgrass, acicularis, parvula, quadrangulata, montevidensis, and a local species I haven't ID'd yet, I have to wait for the flower head. I also have two more varieties I found at the nursury this year that I'll be playing around with in the fall. I'm letting them flower at the moment as well.

They will die, so just collect them the best you can and toss 'em.

i Know, sorry buddy! yer i think im guan change the crassula helmsii for dwarf hairgrass and just trim it!
