Slate? Locally? cheap?

Doing some aquascaping... Need a few chunks of slate. Does anyone here in Central Indiana know of hobby or crafts stores that have it? Hobby lobby has some slate chalk boards that I could r-purpose, but I would rather snag it from a more natural source...

Thanks! A little more than I was thinking. Just a few little peices, enough for a small shelf/cave in a tank. We have a place that sells those up in Anderson, were I am, but I was thinking of something thinner. More like black board type... Maybe I am thinking to specifically.

Im thinking of snagging a peice from lowes, they have slate tiles the color that I want and cheap. I can split and shatter them to look natural. Any suggestions of cleaning them to make sure that there is nothing nasty and toxic on them?

If you're breaking them up, just boil the pieces for 15 minutes or so. I breed angels and have those slates cut into strips at Lowes for me and that's about all you need to do.

Find a local landscaping and stone yard. Up here in Lafayette the place is Wrede Rocks.

I ended up going to lowes. They had 6x6 tile for under a buck a peice. They had 12x12 but i would have had to buy the whole box. I bought 5 6x6 tile, and I spilt them, so I had plenty! Not a good pic, I should have taken it from a better angle. It will look cool when all the plants grow in.
