GBR's just spawned! YAY!!

Ok, I just wanted to share that.

I was discussing with Dogfish yesterday how his GBRs have spawned numerous times in his Toxic 10. My tank is a low tech planted and the interesting thing is that my water is pretty hard and taps out at PH 7.8. I do small water changes twice a week and feed a varied ( not over feed ) diet. The tank is a 20 long and also home to a shoal of Blood Fin Tetras. My Rams always looked healthy, but this is the first time I actually saw eggs. Bottom line here is that it is further proof that one of the most important factors in successful fish keeping is consistency.

Larry did you spike the water temp, per our chat? Or just play some Barry White music?

I did nothing. As I said, I do regular water changes. If anything, the water going in is cooler (75 deg ) than that in the tank. I suspect that that is not the first time for them. The tank is heavily planted. Now I know why the Blood Fins are so fat
