Will Nerites or others feed on tank mates shells?

I have a few Nerites and the shells are not the greatest...I got them that way. I'm trying to figure out how best to provide calcium but I've noticed something else... One snail in particular I keep finding attached to another (not sure if the he same host every time). I'm wondering if that snail may be so desperate that it would start eating on another's shell? I finally removed it from another snail last night and I did see weak spots in the shell it was on...don't know if it is coincidence or not. I plan to look for some generic calcium supplements at the grocery store today, there is plenty of algae to feed on, and I also offer tabs for my bottom feeders and shrimp.

If they are on the side of the shell it could be mating.

My nerites do that all the time. I have a small one that rides around the tank on the big ones back. You can always add a piece of cuttlebone that's used for birds to give them a source of calcium to munch on.

Interesting. I'm heading to find some cuttle bone on the way home :-)
