Axelrod's emersed tubs


Gonna use this thread to keep track of my emersed tubs I've had the first one up for about a month and just set the second up yesterday. I'll add a list of the plants tomorrow.

Ok here's the list of what I've planted so far

Bin 1:
Bacopa Monnieri
Pogostemon Erectus
S. Repens
Alternanthera Reineckii
H. micranthemoides
Cardamine lyrata or hydrocotyle?
and a couple pieces of Elatine Triandra that may be pulling through in there.

Bin 2:
C. Lucens
C. Wendtii
Persicaria sp. 'Sao Paulo'
Persicaria sp. 'kawagoeanum'
Anubias Barteri
Ammannia Pedicellata

Love the glass idea you used for the plastic lid. Have you had any melting of the plastic?

No melting so far. Someone on another forum did tell me that they have had their plexiglass lids bow some over time.

My new light over my 55g stopped working yesterday. Going to switch out the bulb and balast to see if it's that. If not, I'm going to write the company and see what they'll do about it.

If you want for a 55 you can buy a dual t8 fixture from lowes for 19.99 and then 2 bulbs at 6700k with the egg crate u have u will get awesome growth

It seems some of the plants in bin 1 are drying out a bit. I think the bin is still quite humid. There is condensation all over the sides and top. The only thing that has changed is the light has been lowered onto the lid instead of hanging a few inches above. Is it possible for the light to dry out the plants while it is still very humid inside?
