WTS: 55G setup

55g tank, cabinet, Eheim Aquaball Powerhead, Finnex Ray2 Aquarium Day/Actinic LED Light, Fluval 306 Multi-Stage Canister Filter, two LARGE pieces of driftwood. 7 med-large (1 black & 6 platinum)angels.

I don't have the room or the time for the fish. I just got this tank about six months ago. It was going to be a planted tank but I ran out of money. It has some eco complete in it but not enough.

Asking $250 for everything and must pick in Westmont.

PM if interested. Thanks.

Default Not selling! :)

2013 was a difficult year for me, hospitalized twice, etc.

I'm glad I listened to my hubby and I didn't sell this tank. My life seems to getting back to "normal".

I've been very successful growing algae! I need to dim or raise the finnex light. I still need to find a home for 2-3 angels. They're getting large and 7 is too many.

Here's a recent pic, recently cleaned/scraped. I'm starting to get nasty hair algae. Stepping up the water changes and dimming the light now. I hope that works!

Default Good to hear

I'm glad you didn't get rid of it. IT is too therapeutic at least for me. My wife thinks I'm obsesses and she is probably right. How aggressive are your Angelfish? I have tetras, mollies and danios with shrimp perusing the bottom. I wouldn't want to add any bullies. oh yeah and a betta is very mild.

The angels are aggressive. They are cichlids.

They can be kept with peaceful community fish, as long as they're bigger than the angels' mouth! Angelfish and dwarf South American cichlids are my favorite to keep.

I traded four of the them earlier this week. I got plants, frozen brine, and filter media. I kept two, hoping for a pair. Tonight they spawned!!! So I guessed right!! I had to move the black angel to another tank because the two platinum breeding would have killed her.

I took out the driftwood. It's just too big for my tank. I will post pics tomorrow.

I really need to learn about aquascaping. One day I hope to have a beautiful heavily planted tank like the ones in this forum.

Thanks, I'm so glad we kept it!

Eco Complete fine grain black. I bought it from Drs Foster and Smith. Good price with free shipping. I like that it's ready to put in the tank. It's pricy compared to sand but I felt it was without.
