The, "Lizards", you are talking about are called, "Newts".
One thing to realize is that not all newts will stay in water, some may roam around on land when it is damp. Don't be disappointed if one day they decide to hit the road. Depending where you live, your pond may populate itself with salamanders and newts. Here is some quick info that I found on, "Google", searching for, "Pond Life". http://www.enchantedlearning.com/bio...pondlife.shtml http://www.alienexplorer.com/ecology/topic15.html http://www.fishpondinfo.com/pond.htm

Reptiles - Snakes, lizards, turtles, crocodiles they are part of the class Reptilia
Amphibians - Frogs, salamanders, newts - they are part of the class Amphibia Reptiles that live in water include Chineese water dragon, Australian water dragon, Sailfin lizards, Basilisks, alligators, crocodiles, & caimans. Although I've seen alligators for sale in pet stores I wouldn't recommend any of the last 3 for captive pets unless you *really* know what you are doing. |
