I'm Confused

Somebody sort me out.

After browsing I am defintatly confused.

I just want to know if I have enough light with my tank to grow plants.

Eclipse2 w/ 15w daylight& 15w aquaglow
15gal tank 12x12x24

Now I assume I have 30w total which equates to 2wpg.

This should be sufficent for med light plants right?

Help me please. :?

2wpg is a good place to start with medium light plants, yep.

Should be just fine. Your tank isn't that deep anyway, 12"...or is it? You say 12x12x24, usually I think it is written as LxWxH and your suggesting 2 feet deep! I'm pretty sure I'm fussing over nothing.

Vals don't really prune well. You can keep java moss, but I'm not sure riccia will work too well with that amount of light either.

I heard tin foil is bad. How about a piece of polished sheet metal bent and cut to fit? :?:

You aint gonna grow riccia with that light... as a matter of opinion that is a weak "2 wpg"... the bulbs are only 15 watt intensity which is going to be a tuff grow of many plants... :?
Java moss and ferns , crypts, hygro's etc. will do fine.

A real good quality reflector is a must with those bulbs... anything less and you are really going upstream I would think.
