Got a new herp tank.

Ok guys someone gave me this tank-

It's 48"x18"x17" and everything in the pic plus a screen top. My neighbor seen me carrying it in and said that if I decided to sell it he'll give me $75 for it. I haven't a clue if this is a fair price at all for something like this or not??

Any help with ( not getting ripped off) it would be great.

75 is prolly on the cheap end. Based on your dimensions its a 55g tank which go for anywhere from 150-200 .Sometimes you can find them cheaper but not always. Tank condition plays a lot in what a person wants to pay. I think your 3d background in that tank could up the price a bit. They are fairly cheap to do from scratch but its a decent amount of work that goes into one. That driftwood which was probably purchased was a good 20 bucks plus the cave and water bowls. That being said, if someone gave me a free 55g I'd put a critter or fish in it.

48x18x17 that would make that a 65G breeder tank. Those actually don't come cheap. Even during the petco $1 per gallon it's not included in the sale. $75 is def cheaper side. If you can see manufacture date on bottom and all silicone is good I would ask $100 for tank alone.

$75 is on the very cheap side, but it's still a fair price for a used tank with all the goods that you got for free. I know I expect a deal when the stuff is used and not new. I would keep it for myself though and put something in it!
