I am new to this forum I just wanted to say hi to all Indiana planted tank junkies

I had a aquarium when was younger and didn't know to much about it. I would just throw some fake plants, bright rocks, and fish on a tank a let do whatever. It always seem to manage it self, I would just add tap water and feed every so often. I just loved fish.

Now that I'm out of college and got some room to build a tank I'm back at it. Since I've gotten back in the game I've been researching everything(thanks to high speed internet. I had no idea what all you could do with a aquarium(let alone a planted aquarium) and now that I know I am hooked like a kid on candy. I can't get enough of this stuff. Now I love the whole natural look and ability to be able to create your own little ecosystem, its beyond addicting.

Thanks to this forum I am know better knowledge and ready to spend all my money.

Just had to get that off my chest, the first step is admitting it.

What's up knuggs? I'm in greenwood too, Fry and madison. Let me know if you are ever in the market for plants or shrimp. I have plenty of both. There are a couple other guys around town with some amazing tanks, Diablocanine and RMC. RMC has a fish basement with all kinds of great fish, I got some sweet corys from him. The LFS around here suck, but the awesome hobbyists more than make up for it.

Hey yoink, I live on in polo run by 31s and fry. I've been going to Uncle Bill's to get my live stuff(plants and fish), but their selections suck more everday.
I noticed a few contaminated tanks as well. I would mind hooking up with some cherry shrimp. Also always looking for unique fish, just got a mating pair of golden wonder killies, just waiting to set up breeding tank.

I work right by your place, same strip mall as uncle bills. Uncle bills is ok, but they do often have sick fish. They sell dyed fish too which sucks. Specks at 135 and smith vally have great fish, a few things that you don't see in most places too. I've picked up some dwarf corys(habrosus and pygmaeus) and some julidochromis transcriptus 'gombe' there. I have seen panda corys, various dwarf cichlids, and hillstream loaches there. Its the only place I've ever bought otos and not had most of them die. You can come by and get some cherrys anytime, I always have plenty. I don't work on friday's or sunday's, so those would be best. Later.

If no one has mentioned yet, you're officially invited to check out the CCAC (Circle City Aquarium Club). Meetings are at Garfield Park, which isn't too far from you. http://www.circlecityaqclub.org/ There are great deals on equipment, fish and plants, not to mention meetings are always a blast. We do speakers, raffles, door prizes, bowl shows, and a mini-auction at every meeting. The BIG public auction is coming up too! May 6th at the Holiday Inn in Beech Grove.

There are lots of Indiana locals on here at plantedtank - DiabloCanine, yoink, Boz, MrBlackThumb, lbsfarm, ashappar, and ME to name a few (those are just the ones I've met in person, I'm sure there are more). I'm willing to bet you'll have no trouble finding people to swap plants with! In fact, if you're ever up north in the Carmel / Castleton area you should let me know!

I'm planning on going to the CCAC public auction this May. Hey Jen do they sale or trade any killifish? I also met with Yoink to get some cherry shrimp. He hook me up and help me with some questions. I enjoyed all his setups, very nice tanks!

Hi knuggs! I'm another Indy fish geek and plant geek wannabe. I'm heading to Yoink's on Sunday, and we're heading to Speck's and who knows where else. You're welcome to come with. We're waiting on another member before deciding on a specific time.

There are LOTS of killie keepers in the CCAC. Actually, the club has spawned it's own smaller killie club. I can't for the life of me find the info though, but I will at the next meeting and hopefully let you know. The big auction will have several pairs of killies I'm sure. I will most likely bring in some Epiplatys dagetti (sp?), depending on if any of my fry turn out to be female by then.
