My Fluval EBI

Well its been set up for a little over a month now so i figured id do a write up.

Equipment:
2 Stock 13 watt lights
finnex px360
GLA supreme reg
5lb tank
up aqua diffuser

substrate:
fluval stratum

ferts:
flourish comprehensive
osmocote tabs every once in a while

heres where it started

i took the foam background out and made a plastic mesh and christmas moss wall. also added a couple marimo moss balls.

filled it with water the same day i did the wall and added the hair grass and some kind of red ludwigia.

pretty much let it do its thing for a month. the hair grass and ludwigia started to take off fast so i added some floaters cause they look cool and reduce the light a little. also added a myrio mattogrossense.

right now i need to do a trim bad! but i figured id post some pics so give me some motivation.

feedback is welcome. im still new. thanks for looking.

That's a nice piece of driftwood. Did you plant the Ludwigia and the Myrio in front of the driftwood? It might look better if you moved it to the back so you can showcase the driftwood.

Whoa man, I'm having bad flashbacks of my hair grass carpet... trimming it is the easy part. Collecting the trimmings is a PITA!

Good luck!

Nice tank and healthy looking plants!

A little off topic, but when you trim that hairgrass, do you just mow it down , or do you have to uproot it and remove the taller blades from the shorter blades?

both the ludiwgia and myrio are behind the wood. the ludwigia started growing toward the front of the tank so i keep it kind of short. im not sure how alot of the folks on here get their plants to grow straight up. maybe i have to much force coming out of the spray bar.

i cut it with scissors pretty short like a lawn mow then collect all the little blades that float around. its a PITA if you ask me. but the grass is super green so i like it.
