Has anyone ever had something like this just grow in their tank before? What on earth can it be?
any guesses? sorry the pic isn't that great but essentially there is something white or cream colour inside a translucent sac of some sort.

The thing in the rock/wood just right of the middle of the picture?

It looks like a bacterial colony around a big chunk of uneaten food or bacteria over a dead fish. I would lean more towards the uneaten food, personally. Possibly an algae wafer? What food do you feed?

Looks like sap coming from driftwood.

I had a dead bug in my tank when I came back from a trip, it was coated with goo like that.

It is something dead and decomposing, covered in fungi and bacteria.

I feed Omega one flakes and sinking pellets.
I have lost sight of a guppy that i thought might be on her way out.
I wonder if thats what happened to her.
thanks everyone.

in my experience dead fish decompose/get eaten within a couple days. Especially guppies due to their slender bodies. Always try to scoop a dead fish out as early as possible.

The white goo? yuk. I guess you dont have any snails. I remember when I had fish and when they died, my shrimps would be over them, after that, all the snails would be over them. After a while, only the bones were left. Since you dont have anything to devour it down, I guess fungus is there to do it.

Sinking algae wafers will do that after a couple days, dunno about the yolk looking creamy center though...
