new 20g long

[Daemonfly]

20g long project in the works, just a few weeks old.



Huge clumps of furry brown algae have subsided a bit after adding some hornwort, so I decided to take some pics of it in an early state. Lace Java Fern top is still covered in algae though

Quite a few "in transition" plants, like Java Fern & Anubias just floating around, as well as Pearlweed that I got in but haven't had a chance to plant yet (nor decide WHERE to plant :P ).

Left - Dwarf Hairgrass, Algae ball & Micro Sword
Center - Anubias Nana & Lace Java fern on driftwood, Crypts down in front. Hornwort in back, most likely temporary
Right - Asian Ambulia in rear right corner, Red Ludwigia midway, Rotala in front corner. Pearlweed floating up top (temporarily).

Fish:
Amano Shrimp, Kuhli Loaches, Yoyo Loaches, Neon Tetras, Forktailed Blue-eyes ("Furcata Rainbows"), Otos.

DIY Slate cave covered in Christmas Moss will be going in soon. Currently in a grow-out tank, and was waiting for algae to subside in the 20g.

Odd, I just had a few friends test it & it works fine for them.

Looks very nice, especially the driftwood. Very healthy Ludwigia. I don't see much algae... What kind of lighting do you have there? Does it cover the entire tank?

1x55w kit from AH Supply with the GE 9325k, sadly, it doesn't fit to the ends, hence the angling of the ambulia . I think I might shift it down & pop in a 13w kit or something. The algae is mostly on the hornwort now, and small bits here & there - it was a LOT worse.

That's what I did with my 60" tank and 48" bulbs. I complemented them with 13W AHS fixtures and 10W screw in compacts.

I like it... Nice mix of plants and the driftwood is kool.

I had pearlweed in my tank for a while....Now I know why they call it a weed. :shock:

Nice tank, D-fly. I just got a 20L to try my hand at nano-reefing. I love the dimensions of that little tank.

nice tank with nice future. I like the Hornwort, yellowish color, it fits in the red / brown combination of crypt and wood. Because it haves small leaves/needles, the distance effect is very nice.

I've got the 55w Aga pc as well. How do you pop in a 13w kit?

I'm just not sure what that is. Or what that involves.

How do you pop it in? If you have a hood, you just screw it in, since it comes with reflectors. If no hood, you'd need some kind of fixture to put it inside. I believe AHsupply sells fixtures for their kits as well.
