That white film on top :(

Okay so I've set up my new 10g tank, it's developing the white film on top which I've read about and see I need more surface agitation! My question is would that better serve a planted and future shrimp tank in the form of an air pump air stone, or a powerhead? I saw my local petsmart has an ac30(I believe) powerhead on clearance for around 12 bucks! Of course I'd need to put a sponge over the intake for shrimp but curious what the better option is! The internal filter just isn't moving enough it seems!

I'd just shoot for a sponge filter. Nearly any powerhead will be overkill for a ten.

Would a sponge filter do anything at all for surface movement though?

Would setting up a spray bar be a viable option for you?

If I could set a DIY to work with my internal filter it's a tetra whisper 10i

I've got two koraline nanos in my 12 gallon long. I started with one but it only covered half the tank. I think you could get away with a single koraline nano if you wanted to go that route.

looks like its growing again, lasted a day and a half though, any more ideas? could i use the powerfilter and custom fit a spray bar diy or still too much flow? i think im going to rig something up tm to make my filter not shoot the flow into the ground and make it spread across the top see if that helps
