Blue diamond x other neo

Has anyone tried crossing blue diamond with other neo shrimp? I asked because I want to find out what will the babies are like. Wild or something else. I have 30+ red rili and 2 blue diamond (1 male and 1 female) in one tank, later the BD got berried. About 2 weeks ago, I started seeing blue and dark blue babies. Was the one male BD got lucky or they can produce BD with other neo shrimp?

BD x rili will equal wilds. They can interbreed because they are the same species.

I don't mean to stomp on your dreams, but those shrimp just dilute the genetic population and make unsellable shrimp. the people that made these lines work on them for sometimes years, which is why people are upset when you mix them with other lines. Its like breeding a Pure show dog, with a local mutt. Yeah the results maybe neat, but the point of breeding is to make the shrimp better. Whether it be stronger immunity or stronger color.

Not everybody is out to sell shrimp. People need to stop worrying about what other people are doing and remember this is a hobby TO ENJOY. I have a skittle tank with all sort of different colored neos and it's my most interesting tank. It brings me joy. And I thought THAT was the point of a 'hobby'.

I was only trying to explain, take care before mixing. People spend a lot of time and money perfecting a strain. That is all I am saying.

The OP seems to fully understand they cross and can produce wilds. Very first post laid all that out. They were asking if when bred with other neos IF some of the babies will still result in blue diamonds even if not crossed with a blue diamond male. Perhaps you simply misunderstood the first post?

Thanks everyone's reply. I am just curious if the single BD male really won the heart of one BD female out of other 15~20 red rili males. I dont know, will see what will happen on next the batch.

Shrimp keeping is my hobby, I have no intention of sell any of my shrimp. Because of that, I never really cared much on the grading of my shrimps or they mix. I know it might upset some people, please accept my apology.

Check post 84 and onward. He crossed blue diamonds with rilis and ended up with carbon rili lookalikes.

Does anyone know if shrimp get "hybrid vigor" from crossing different strands? Maybe some of these crosses are healthier than pure strains, kinda like mutt dogs? Just curious if anyone has noticed, I find genetics fascinating and maybe we can make stronger shrimp by adding some new genes in!
