The Eheim Classics are IMO inferior to the Filstars.
I don't have a Filstar to compare my classic to so I will no judge but I have no problems with my Eheim Classic and I know for a solid fact it will last every bit of 10 years. Nothing against the Filstar but has it even been available for 10 years to know if it will last?

That fact alone made me buy Eheim. Proven reliability.

The design and build quality of it clearly justifies the price (pending a live test) IMHO.
Hey brookline,

You still got your ears on ?

Did all this stuff come with the standard 2026 filter ($150), or did you have to buy the 'plus' kit ($190)? Also, about that extra intake and spray bar you mentioned......is that the new gray/black colored one I've been hearing about?

Thanks,
Ted

I'm not seeing the "standard" one for what you paid, just this http://www.bigalsonline.com/catalog/...tegory_id=1711 for 190 clams.
