African Dwarf Frog and Betta?

Hello all...Ill try to make this short since I'm sure this topic isn't exactly unheard of...I am in the process of cycling my new fluval spec v 5 gallon for my male Betta. It will be planted with a carpet(dwarf baby tears or flame moss depending on LFS) and some water wisteria. Does anybody with ADF experience have any advice or warnings on keep a froggy with a Betta and a few cherry shrimp in this size tank?

I have kept ADFs with a male betta before without indecent. However he was in general very mild mannered. I have never kept an ADF with shrimp however as I was told they would mess with the webbing between their toes. I cannot attest to this being true or not.

Personally I would say no, don't put the betta and ADF together. My managers ADF killed her betta.

Both bettas and ADF's will go after your shrimp too.

ADF will eat anything that can fit in their mouth. But they're very slow and clumsy. It's unlikely that they'll catch your shrimp, especially if the tank is plant b/c that's where the shrimp will stay and the frog will stay on the bottom. I have two ADF with multiple shrimp and they all seem fine. I've had betta's in there also and it was fine. Just be sure you actually have a DWARF African clawed frog and not just a small african clawed frog. The non-dwarf version will get large and will eat even more voraciously than the dwarf version.
