40b tanks

So my 40b has gone through alot of changes. Im always moving plants around, and just have been unhappy with the results. Right now I have a bunch of java moss, anacharis, java fern and a few marimo balls. I just got some driftwood off of craigslist. Awesome find, and I still have two large pieces of bogwood. All for $20. The smaller piece of driftwood was bought online from bloomsandbranches, and has worked out really well. Also got a huge 1lb ziplock bag of java moss for $20(also from craigslist). Just put all the wood and moss in. Not to happy with the result, and Im thinking about cutting the large piece of driftwood in half. It looks like theres to much wood. The smaller piece is probably going to go in my smaller tank. Just put it in there for the time being.

Curious as to what everyone else did with there 40b. Post some pictures

Fish

6 kuhli loaches
11 silvertip tetras
8 neon tetras
7 cory cats
3 otos
1 dwarf gourami
3 bolivian rams
10 assassin snails

2 aquaclear filters 70 and 50
No co2, only liquid ferts and root tabs.
Couple of cichild stones for the loaches.

The wood is nice I think.

I'd put a black background on there, and maybe some carpeting plants that will spread, like dwarf sag up front. Maybe swap out the white rocks for black ones.

Thanks, and tanks been through alot of changes since I last updated this thread. There is a black background, and also upgraded lighting. Last two pics are tank about 3 weeks ago. Still not done, and thinking about removing java fern and driftwood in the right left front corner. Possibly add some more crypt, and oval ludwigia.

Yeah, that looks a lot better!

The only thing I would add would be some dwarf sag or pygmy chain sword right up front.

Moved some stuff around, and did a cleaning today. Moved driftwood with java fern to the bank. I was thinking about adding staurogyne repens in the front, but not sure if they need co2. No co2 running on this tank. Just root tabs, and liquid micros and macros. Moss is growing like crazy, and im trimming it about every 2-3 days. Corkscrew val is going fast, and will look alot better once all plants reach the surface.

I just cleaned my tank yesterday as normal, and this morning I woke up and found water on the edge of my tank. Cleaned it up and checked for leaks, and visually couldnt find anything. Few hours passed, and again there is more water. Not alot but enough to raise an alarm. I called petsmart, and asked about replacing my tank. The manager was very nice, and was able to ok the exchange.

My question is do I need to be extra careful when removing everything from tank? Water, fish, substrate, plants, etc....

Also I do have a 20 gallon long reptile tank. Would it be ok to move everything to this tank for a day or so. Not sure if its ok as the tanks arent ment to hold water.
