I Love the wild strains! Great looking group, how long have you had the tank up and running? Any specific plans for them?

They have been with me for a little over a month and already put on 1/4" (runt) to 1/2"(biggest). I feed seven times a day and do 90% wc with pure RO pre heated daily. They are four demini blue heckels and one pacoval (looking to be royal). All fish are sub adult and my plan is to breed them once adults.

Awesome! Sorry I didn't notice this was in the Lousiana sub-forum. Good Luck with the breeding!

Hey johnd
Just started the aquarium hobby 3 months ago. And I finally planted my tank just three days ago. I picked up some dwarfhairgrass, ludwigia, and a lily from tropical fish bowl and some val and a crypt from pets unlimited to get started with. Just setup diy co2 last night so fingers crossed. Looking to get into discus and keep a few in my 40breeder but I have read that it may be too small of a tank :/

Welcome John and Anthony! There are a few members here in lousiana area. Most stick with the local forum for southeast lousiana aquarium society. Quite a few there into both discus and plants. Chuckbam is pretty much the local guru outta covington (you can google chuckbam.com to see his discus. Several members in your area are pretty active.

Ps your discus are beautiful!
