Anyone know where to buy Black Diamond blasting sand in Denver?

I am looking for Black Diamond Blasting Sand to use for a couple tanks I am looking to set up. I was wondering if anyone had any extra or knows where I can get it in Denver. I have been searching online but not really finding anyplace and would hate to pay $30 to have it shipped in.

Thanks,

Will

Well there's a Tractor Supply in Greeley

but the website says they're sold out of black diamond sand. If you're willing to drive to Glenwood Springs the store there has some in stock.

United western doesn't have Black Diamond, only Black Beauty. I haven't heard much about Black Beauty but I will end up getting it from there unless I hear a bunch of negative stuff about it.

i have 4-5 bags in the garage, but I am up in Cheyenne. I buy 1-2 everytime I go to NE to see family. Not sure when my next trip will be, but you can grab 2 bags from the garage if you need em quick.

I was told it is the same stuff. Basically coal slag. I am using it in my 40b with no ill effects. I used the 20/40 grit. and it was CHEAP!!

I bought three bags of the Black Beauty today from United Western Denver. If it works like I hope it will I will probably convert most my tanks over to it so I can more easily use tanks for Neos or Caridinas as the need arises instead of having to predetermine which one is which.

I just got a bag of this stuff. How do I need to treat it? Does it need to be rinsed or what?

Sorry to interrupt. But just asking- If you want just the common sand in your tank, where do you buy it from?
Back in India I'd go to some river and collect direct from the river. But Mountain rivers here has nice stones and not the sand. Will Home depot have it?

You can buy play sand at home depot. I use that all the time. It is cheap. It is with the bags of cement in the store.

Where did you see it was sold out? I was checked store availability of 20-40 and it said it was available.

His post was almost 2 months ago and they probably restocked since then.

I rinsed mine beforehand just to be safe but it wasn't really dusty so you would likely be fine without the rinse.
