Hi!
Is there any benefit of switching off the lights in between say for a period of 2-3 hrs w.r.t. keeping alage off? If not, then is it disadvantageous to the plants if I switch off the lights in between say for a period of 3 hrs or so? Thanks in adavnce for inputs from experts.

I am not an expert by any means, but I have had a problem with algea and green water after an accidental overdose of fertilizers. I read on here about the plants competeing with algea and the use of excel to help the plants in the battle for food.
I used the maintenance dosage as I have fish and within the day things started clearing up. I have a goodly amount of plants so they did all the work. I reduced the lights to a 12 hour schedule. |
