Cherry Barb sore

Hi
I just got a male cherry barb, that has something like a white pimple on his tail, I believe it's on both sides just much smaller on one side. He is very healthy and active other wise and eats very well.

I have had him in qt for about three weeks, (he got it a week after I purchased him) I also have another cherry and some corys in with him, they are all very healthy as far as I can see and have contacted no sores.

Can someone help me with this, I can't get a pic, he is small and my camera would never capture it, but like I said it is pretty much a white pimple/sore on his tail (not fin)

I have searched and can find nothing that looks like what he has, so I have no idea what to treat for, any help will be greatly appreciated

Has it changed in appearance since you first noticed it? What are your water parameters for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate? It could be something minor like a cyst but it's really hard to diagnose fish online like this.

I would probably just do alot of small water changes for the next week or two - clean water can help clear up many small issues - and continue to monitor him. You could try an antibiotic but it seems like a bit too much at this point, especially if the rest of the fish seem fine.

I know its hard to diagnose online, but thanks for trying, I'll just keep an eye on it.
