Need help with a white mold or fungus


It started in one of my tanks and is now on all the driftwood in the house.Please help ID and help with a cure.

Like ID what? A picture might get you some help.

If it is on new Mopani wood then it is normal and will go away.

It'll go away in a few weeks. Its absolutely harmless in every way and snails and pleco love to eat it.

I have the same with new driftwood. Apparently it is some form of a bacterial bloom on the woods surface. It will go away on its own. Or as mentioned above snails and plecos decimate the stuff.

If you added new driftwood other than that big piece recently then that would be it. Or sometimes recently added plants have been known to carry it I suppose. Either that or new driftwood from another tank and you somehow got some into this tank via equipment like nets gloves plants rocks substrate etc...
