Cool

"Wood Rocks" at Bernie's Rock & Garden

Took a chunk out of my afternoon today to head down to Bernie's Rock & Garden today. This was was certainly worth the drive.

Google Maps Location

What got me down there was something on their website called "Wood Rock"

Lots of great aquascaping material here, and the wood rock turned out to be pretty cool granite with lots of small flecks of mica. Price is $2.50/lb

...and placed inside my tank:

Those would look epic in a large (55g or 75g) iwagumi tank.

Very much so. Lots of different sizes, widths & lengths -- picked up a few that will do very well in the Mr. Aqua 12G long that I'm starting up

These look really nice. What was the cost? Do they charge by the piece, or by the weight? Is it actual rock, or petrified wood?

Henri from the Planted Aquarium store used them in this demo aquascape. To no ill effects so far it seems:

I had a doctor's appointment down in Kendall today, so I took the opportunity to drive down to Bernie's afterwards. I was happy that the cost had gone down to $1.50 per lb. These were the pieces I grabbed:
