2.5g critter/s

I have an old 2.5g I'd like to plant and put a few TINY critters in. Any suggestions on something that will be able to thrive in such a small area?

Praying Mantis. My ghost mantis has an 8x8x8 all to her self.. Though her plants died and I need to get her some new ones. ><

Second the mantis. If you like carnivorous bugs (and have a lid on the tank) there are quite a few spiders, scorpions, etc that would do nicely in a setup like that. I think jumping spiders have a lot of personality, and a tank that size would be small enough that they don't just get lost but large enough to view their jumping behavior. You could keep several striped bark scorpions in a cage that size. A pair of beetles would work, and be a little more active, though they may eat your plants. The downside is that most of these animals don't live very long; usually only a year or two (though the scorpions can live ~5 years, and might breed for you, if that's something you would find appealing instead of horrifying).

All those things are terrifying lol. I was hoping for a nice small lizard or frog.

Hey I have one! I rescued a female, who apparently had just gotten busy with a male one really cold night on my drive way, and now her and her young live happily in my tank that houses a few plants.

I never heard of a Ghost Mantis before until I looked them up and they look awesome. Do you have any pictures of her tank?

Yeah! When she finished her adult shed she was brown but with proper care she turned green. She eats like 6 larger crickets in a two week span, and is very hand friendly. They are one of the longer lived mantis, the hotter it is and the more food you feed the faster they grown and the shorted their life span. I got mine for 15$ so they are not to terribly expensive, Another idea for that tank is a rose hair or emperor scorpion
