What type of Plecostomus? Any suggestions?


I have a 55 gallon tank and currently keep 1,unsexed yet, King Tiger Pleco (L66) and 1 Long-Finned Albino Bristlenose (looks like its going to turn into a male) and had until today another Bristlenose, a female. Unfortunately she died.

Now i am thinking about getting another one and was wondering, if i should get another BN again or another type?

Was looking at these other ones i am very interested in:

L450
or L134

I always wanted a Zebra-Pleco (L46) but i just can't afford that price
So i am looking for similar ones and i am very happy with my "alternative", the L66, who gets along great with my BN.

Any ideas?

Depends on what you'd like to do with them I suppose. Are you interested in breeding them?

Not really. When i had the 2 BN i would have loved to see some babies, but otherwise i couldn't keep them all anyways. When i got them, they were pretty small so you couldn't tell if male or female. That was just coincidence how it turned out.

I don't want to breed the King Tiger, that is for sure. I just love to watch him since his pattern is not as normal as from some other plecos.

My BN who just passed was a very nice one too, hard to find a black one with strong spots like that again. And then it needs to be the same size as my other 2 to avoid fighting, right?
